The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild features several specialized gear sets through its Master Trials DLC pack, with the Phantom Armor standing out as one of the most useful. Offering a significant attack bonus for each piece equipped, this set provides early-game players with high offensive capability without requiring difficult crafting materials. Locating all three pieces requires searching hidden treasure chests scattered across the central region of Hyrule.

Finding the Phantom Helmet at Coliseum Ruins

The Phantom Helmet is hidden within the dangerous grounds of the Coliseum Ruins located in Central Hyrule. Players should head toward the ground floor along the northwest wall to spot the submerged chest using the Magnesis ability. Be cautious when entering this area, as a formidable Lynel patrols the main floor and can easily detect unprepared adventurers.

To obtain the helmet safely, players can either defeat the Lynel or sneak along the outer walls using stealth-enhancing gear. Once in position, use Magnesis to pull the metallic chest directly out of the dirt and claim the headpiece. Equipping the helmet immediately grants a boost to Link's attack power during combat encounters.

Locating the Phantom Armor in Sacred Ground Ruins

The central chest piece of the set, known as the Phantom Armor, resides at the Sacred Ground Ruins south of Hyrule Castle. This ceremonial area features a circular water fountain where the treasure chest is submerged. Using Magnesis near the water helps reveal the exact position of the buried container.

Pull the chest out of the southeast portion of the fountain to acquire the torso piece. This chest piece provides excellent defense along with an additional layer of attack damage. It serves as an ideal gear choice for tackling challenging encounters early in a Master Mode playthrough.

Uncovering the Phantom Greaves at Hyrule Garrison Ruins

The final piece needed to complete the set is the Phantom Greaves, which are located at the Hyrule Garrison Ruins. Search the southeast corner of these ruined structures near a broken, inactive Guardian unit. Activate the Magnesis rune to highlight the metallic chest resting beneath the ground debris.

Yank the chest from the dirt to add the leg armor to your inventory and finish the full set. Wearing all three pieces maximizes your base attack power, allowing you to deal substantial damage with any weapon type. While the armor pieces cannot be upgraded at Great Fairy Fountains, their high starting stats make them immensely valuable for exploring central Hyrule.
